If you are considering OTTO as an EU seller, the fee schedule is the first thing to price into your margin calculation. OTTO's fees are the same for international sellers as for German ones, there is no international surcharge and no separate fee schedule. This guide covers every fee, in EUR, as it applies in 2026.
At a glance
Base fee: EUR 99.90 net per month
Sales commission: 5–22% of the gross sales price, depending on category
Tiered commissions: in 15+ categories the rate drops as the price rises
Shipping fee commission: 16% on the shipping costs the customer pays
Payment fee: 2.7%, already included in the sales commission
The real question is not what OTTO charges but how the charges stack on each order: the category commission (often tiered), the monthly base fee, a commission on customer-paid shipping, and returns on top. That stack is why revenue in your dashboard and profit in your bank account are two very different numbers.
The base fee: EUR 99.90 per month
Since August 2024, OTTO Market costs EUR 99.90 net per month, up from EUR 39.90 before. The fee is deducted automatically from your settlement account and is independent of revenue or order volume.

| eBay (Top Shop) | EUR 80.00 |
| Zalando | EUR 40.00 (EUR 480/year) |
| Amazon (Professional) | EUR 39.00 |
Sales commissions by category
Commissions are calculated on the gross sales price (including German VAT) and range from 5% to 22%. Since October 2024, many categories use tiered rates: the higher the price, the lower the percentage on the portion above each threshold.

How tiered commissions actually work
With tiered commissions you do not pay one flat rate. The rate is applied per price band: each portion of the sales price is charged at its own rate, and only the portion above a threshold gets the lower rate.
Worked example: a sofa sold for EUR 800 (furniture: 19% to 150 / 18% to 500 / 17% above)
First EUR 150 × 19% = EUR 28.50
EUR 150–500 (350) × 18% = EUR 63.00
EUR 500–800 (300) × 17% = EUR 51.00
Total commission: EUR 142.50, an effective rate of 17.8%
Worked example: an e-bike sold for EUR 2,500 (20% to 1,000 / 17% to 1,400 / 8% above)
EUR 1,000 × 20% + EUR 400 × 17% + EUR 1,100 × 8%
= EUR 200 + EUR 68 + EUR 88 = EUR 356 commission
Effective rate: 14.2% instead of the 20% headline rate
The pattern: the more expensive the product, the lower the effective commission. Tiered categories structurally favour higher price points.

Is OTTO worth it at these rates?
EUR 99.90 per month plus 5–22% commission sounds expensive next to Amazon's EUR 39. The other side of the ledger: otto.de has around 6,200 marketplace sellers, against more than 240,000 on Amazon.de. Less competition per category means lower advertising costs and more organic visibility per SKU. For mid- and high-priced assortments, the tiered commissions work in your favour on top.
For sellers from the Netherlands, Poland and other EU countries the fee schedule above applies unchanged. What OTTO requires from you instead is covered in Selling on OTTO Market as an EU seller and VAT & OSS for OTTO sellers.
From fee schedule to actual profit
Knowing the rates is the easy part. On a real assortment, the tiered commission, the 16% on shipping, category differences and returns interact on every single order. That is the point where a spreadsheet stops being fun and starts being wrong.
profitkonsole connects to your OTTO Partner Connect account and matches the fees OTTO actually settled against your purchase prices, per SKU and per brand, so you see your real contribution margin per product instead of an estimate.
